ABOUT
this site
This site is about management,
or
perhaps mis-management, in EMS agencies, big, little, public, private, paid, volunteer or some combination of these and other characteristics so often seen
today. It is not the latest in management spin, except where this information might have some
value. In these cases we will try to avoid the current trend toward "management speak" (for example, when you get reengineered out of a job you get fired- let's try to keep it
simple).
It is not intended to be a motivational, or some sort of self-help encounter
session. The goal is to give you facts to work with in your next round of battle against who ever it is you have to do battle with next. You will need to find the energy to do
battle. If this is an area of concern, a visit to any one of the online or off line bookstores is
recommended.
The bottom line is that this site will strive to provide useful answers to what are sometimes difficult, and sometimes not so difficult,
questions. Your questions, not the author's questions and not the questions some expert in the field thinks you ought to ask. It is not possible to answer every question, assuming you have decided to stick with us and not press the back button on your
browser. Every effort will be made to prioritize answers. If you don't see your question or your answer, keep looking as it may show up when you least expect
it.

Questions we address fall within
the management realm- such as specific reference to ethical issues in management, as the industry recently has taken, shall we say, a few black eyes over things like embezzlement, fraud, dispatchers who sell calls to local providers, public unions that obstruct system development, to mention a
few.
Having said that, there will be a sort of issue of the
month ("Swamp-Alligator of the Month") page, something that seems important for everyone to
consider. If you already have that issue resolved, and you are absolutely sure of this fact, then you might move
on. The again, you could be wrong (and so could we so if you don't like the answer you get or read, then stand up and say
so). In the end, hopefully everyone will get something out of this. So, there we have it.
